Carl Vinson Veterans' Administration Medical Center
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia, is one of 154 medical centers in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that cares for U.S. military Veterans. Originally commissioned as a U.S. Navy hospital in 1945, the medical center serves 40,000 Veterans in forty-nine counties in middle and southeast Georgia and manages community-based outpatient clinics in Albany, Macon, Milledgeville, Perry, and Tifton and is the largest employer in Laurens County, Georgia, with 2,400 employees. The medical center’s mission is to provide America’s heroes with the highest quality healthcare possible in an environment of dignity and respect and that honors Veterans’ service and empowers their health. The Dublin VA provides outpatient and residential services including specialty services, covers 83 acres, and operates with a $550 million annual budget. Residential services include residential nursing care in the facility’s Community Living Center (CLC) and Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Program (MHRRTP), or “domiciliary,” services. Primary care, residential, specialty, and ancillary services are supported by innovative programs and services based in the Whole Health concept and cutting-edge technologies emerging from telehealth. The medical center is currently under the executive management of Mr. David Scott Reesman, a retired U.S. Army Lt. Colonel.
