  • As part of its effort to expand quality health care services to its Veterans, the Durham VA Health Care System opened a new clinic to meet the growing needs of Veterans within the Raleigh-Durham triangle. On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Croasdaile VA Clinic officially opened its doors to Veterans.

  • On Tuesday, June 28, 2023, representatives from eight VA health care systems joined Durham VA Health Care Innovators and Veteran participants at the Millennium Sports Club in Durham, North Carolina, for an inaugural event.

  • The Durham VA Health Care System and the Duke University School of Nursing presented the "Nurse Practitioner Residency Quality Improvement Presentations and Residency Completion" event on October 22 in the Pearson Building; a virtual option was available.

  • The best way to reduce downtime when ill is to avoid becoming sick. VA adopted several initiatives through its Whole Health wellness program, using a variety of Complementary and Integrative Health (CIH) practices designed to keep people well, in addition to supporting recuperation and healing.

  • On June 17th and 18th, 2021, Durham VA Health Care System (DVAHCS) VA Police Officers participated in the Norwegian Foot March as an outreach effort with soldiers from Fort Bragg’s 50th Expeditionary Signal Battalion-Enhanced (50th ESB-E).

  • On May 10, 2021, Dr. William Yancy, a research associate at the Durham VA Health Care System Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) Center of Innovation to Accelerate Discovery and Practice Transformation (ADAPT) was awarded the HSR&D Award for Best Research Paper for 2020.
