Dr. Sharee Taylor is the associate director for VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System.

Prior to VA Eastern Colorado, Dr. Taylor served as associate director for facility support at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in Chicago, a first-of-its-kind partnership between the VA and DOD. In that leadership role, Dr. Taylor was responsible for the direction of administrative functions, including patient administration, facility management, logistics, prosthetics, police, safety, managed care, communications and public affairs, education and training and nutrition and food services.

After establishing her career with various private sector hospitals in the state of Florida, she began her federal career as a medical records technician and outpatient coder at James A. Haley Medical Center in Tampa.

Dr. Taylor participated in the health information management VHA Technical Career Field internship program, while serving at George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City. After completing the program, she became the assistant chief of health information management at North Texas VA Medical Center in Dallas. She was also the chief health information manager at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland. She quickly became known to build strong clinical and administrative relationships through analysis and evaluation of data relative to health care delivery systems and operations.

Prior to Lovell FHCC, Dr. Taylor was the associate director at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City, Oregon, where she executed and managed multi-million dollar operations. She also served in Miami during a detail as the associate director, where she was responsible for health administration, fiscal, human resources, engineering, safety, police and systems redesign, and executed and managed multi-million dollar operations.

A native of Miami, Dr. Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in health information management from Florida A&M University. She earned a master’s in public administration from Troy State University, and a doctorate in human services from Capella University.
