Mr. Groninger is currently serving as the Interim Assistant Director
Charles (Charlie) R. Groninger is Chief of Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service for the Eastern Kansas Health Care System, appointed in 2019. He leads prosthetics operations to ensure Veterans timely access to quality care.
A Lawrence, Kansas native, Mr. Groninger served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2000 to 2004, including deployment to Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He earned a Bachelor's in Psychology from Ottawa University.
Joining the VA in 2012 as a Purchasing Agent, he transitioned to Prosthetics in 2014 and held assistant chief roles before becoming Chief. Nationally, he serves on prosthetics committees and has presented at the 2019 National Veterans Small Business Engagement.
Passionate about Veterans, Mr. Groninger volunteers with Heartland Honor Flight and has supported the Marine Corps tour bus as wheelchair captain. He is a devoted Kansas Jayhawks, Chiefs, and Royals fan.
