Ms. Heather Grindstaff assumed responsibilities as the Associate Director, Patient Care Services/Chief Nurse Executive in May 2024.
She has over 28 years of proven nursing practice and leadership competencies. Her passion is excellence in Veteran driven health care. Ms. Grindstaff utilizes servant leadership influence to achieve the highest standards in health care.
Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Grindstaff most recently served as Associate Director, Patient Care Services at Sierra Nevada Healthcare System in Reno, Nevada. She has also served as Chief Nurse Primary Care and Community Medicine at James H. Quillen VA Medical System in Mountain Home, Tennessee.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, 1996, and a Master of Science in Nursing Health Care Administration, 2012, from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee.
Ms. Grindstaff has successfully completed several VA Leadership Development programs to include: VISN 9 Leadership Institute (2013), VHA Health Care Leadership Development Program (2020-2021), and VHA Health Care Leadership Development Program Coach (2024). She holds certifications in ANCC Nurse Executive – Board certified and VHA Certified Mentor.
