Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System welcomed Dr. Kevin Connolly as the new Chief of Staff September 21, 2024. 

Dr. Connolly comes to us from the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan where he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff & Detailed, Acting Chief of Staff as well as the Clinical Lead for VISN 10 Primary Care Integrated Clinical Community. 

Dr. Connolly’s prior positions and assignments include Chief of Primary Care Service, Dayton VA Medical Center (VAMC), Physician and Clinic Chief of Occupational Health, Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care Services, PC PACT physician at Dayton VAMC.  While serving in the U.S. Air Force (USAF), Dr. Connolly served as Medical Center Director for David Grant USAF Medical Center, and the 366th Medical Group at Mountain Home Air Force Base.  He was selected for two major awards: the USAF Hospital of the Year, and the US Air Force Patient Safety Award.  

  Dr. Connolly received his Doctor of Medicine in 1995. He also holds a Master of Public Health, a Master of Science, a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology, as well as several other educational degrees. He completed Family, Aerospace and Occupational Medicine Residencies, is certified with the American Boards of Family Medicine and Preventive/Aerospace Medicine and has more than 10 publications. 

Dr. Connolly served in the USAF for 22 years, holding numerous leadership roles, was a Chief Flight Surgeon with more than 850 flight hours, and retired at the rank of Colonel.
