Dr. Judkins is a highly skilled Nurse Executive at the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, boasting over 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Her clinical background encompasses critical care and emergency department nursing. She graduated from Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis, MO.

While working as a staff nurse and part-time nursing instructor for an LPN program in Southern Illinois, Dwanette pursued her education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earning a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2005. Shortly after her graduation, she and her daughter, Dene’, relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Over her 18-year career there, she took on various leadership positions in clinical education, quality and patient safety, project management, and executive management.

In 2020, Dwanette attended the University of San Francisco, where she completed a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Executive Leadership. The following year, she joined The Joint Commission as a Nurse Surveyor, specializing in hospital and ambulatory care accreditation activities. In 2023, she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she accepted the position of Deputy Associate Director of Patient Care Services for the Inpatient Service Line, Rehab and Extended Care Service Line, NOD Department, and Spiritual Care at the Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Outside of her impressive professional achievements, Dwanette’s top priority is being a mother. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, skating, cycling, shopping, and traveling. Her core values center around honesty and integrity, and she draws inspiration from her personal relationship with God.
