Dr. Sharee Taylor serves as the Interim Executive Director VA Hampton Health Care System.
Dr. Taylor was appointed Interim Executive Director on November 17, 2025. She previously served as Associate Director for VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System.
Dr. Sharee Taylor, PhD, RHIA, comes to us from the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, where she served as the Associate Director for Operations. As the Associate Director for Operations, Dr. Taylor was responsible for the direction of administrative functions, including Health Administration, Facility Management, Supply Chain Management, Police, Safety, Biomedical Services, Environmental Management, Fiscal, seven CBOCS, OI&T, and ISSO. She also most recently served as Acting Medical Center Director at the El Paso VA Health Care System, where she was responsible for an operating budget of $677 million, 1,500 employees, and the delivery of health care services for more than 44,000 enrolled Southwest Texas Veterans. Dr. Taylor, a native of Miami, Florida, received her degree in Health Information Management from Florida A&M University, her Master’s in Public Administration from Troy State University, and her Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University.
Dr. Taylor began her career with various private sector hospitals in the state of Florida. She transitioned to the federal sector as a medical records technician/outpatient coder at the James A. Haley Medical Center in Tampa, FL. She also participated in the VHA Technical Career Field Internship Program at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah leading to her role as the assistant chief health information manager at North Texas VA Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and later serving as the chief health information manager at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Prior to her role at the Eastern Colorado Healthcare System, Dr. Taylor served as the Associate Director at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City, Oregon, where she executed and managed multi-million-dollar operations. She also detailed as the associate director in Miami, where she was responsible for HAS, Fiscal, HR, Engineering, Safety, Police, and Systems Re-Design and continued service as the associate director of facility support at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), where she was responsible for the direction of administrative functions including Patient Administration, Facility Management, Logistics, Prosthetics, Police, Safety, Managed Care, Communications and Public Affairs, Education and Training, and Nutrition and Food Services. Dr. Taylor values servant leadership and believes in investing in her employees and services that improve the health and wellness of Veterans served. In her personal time, she loves to travel within the U.S and across the world as well as spending time with friends and family.
