Hampton VA Healthcare System Celebrates Volunteers at annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony
On April 22, 2026, the Hampton VA Healthcare System joyfully celebrated its devoted volunteers during its Volunteer Recognition Ceremony, an annual event coordinated by the VA's Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE). This year's festivities featured a recognition ceremony to honor the invaluable contributions of volunteers who assist Veterans and the VA.
Numerous volunteers were acknowledged for their outstanding commitment, with some contributing between 50 and over 20,000 cumulative hours. Every volunteer received a certificate of appreciation and enjoyed a complimentary lunch as a small gesture of gratitude.
Interim Executive Director Shane Soto was in attendance and expressed his appreciation, stating, “As the Interim Director of the Hampton VA Healthcare System, I am truly honored to extend my deepest appreciation to our extraordinary volunteers. Your service is an essential part of who we are and what we do. Here at Hampton VA, you are not simply supporting our mission, you are helping to define it. In this milestone year, as we commemorate 250 years since the founding of our nation, your dedication reflects the very ideals of service, sacrifice, and unity that our Veterans have upheld.”
The Hampton VA Healthcare System extends heartfelt appreciation to each volunteer for their remarkable dedication and countless hours of service. Their selfless commitment to our Veterans is truly priceless, and their compassion and dedication significantly impact on the lives of those who have served our nation. We express our sincere gratitude for their steadfast support and generosity.
