  • Dr. Reynold Lopez-Soler, Director of Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital’s Renal Transplant Program, was appointed Chairman of the Department of Veterans Affairs Transplant Surgery Surgical Advisory Board (SAB).

  • A team of 10 Veterans won a combined 18 medals at this year’s National Veterans Golden Age Games while representing Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.

  • A World War II Navy Veteran celebrated his 98th trip around the sun with a little help from the La Salle VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

  • An Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital doctor received the Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award on June 27.

    Dr. Paul Nemeth displays his Patriot Award from the Department of Defense alongside his nominator, Kristine Nicoletto. Nemeth is chief of Emergency Medicine at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. He received the award for his eight years of supervisor support to Nicoletto, a lieutenant colonel in the Illinois Air National Guard's 182nd Medical Group.   • Admit it, we all stress eat sometimes, and these past two years have been stressful!

  • It was a thoughtful ceremony. Hines VA employees, some Veterans, and a special guest laid the first stones in a Memorial Stone Garden located near the Winter Garden May 26, 2022, in dedication to recently passed Veterans who received their care here at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.
