VA Opens New Bloomington Clinic to Expand Care for Veterans

On September 15, Veterans, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the new Bloomington VA Clinic, a 24,000 square-foot facility designed to bring more care under one roof for the nearly 5,000 Veterans it will serve in southern Indiana.

The modern outpatient clinic will consolidate Mental Health, Primary Care, and Specialty Care services, replacing the two separate locations where Veterans currently receive care. With expanded services such as optometry, physical therapy, prosthetics, audiology, and on-site blood draw, the clinic reflects VA’s commitment to providing high-quality, accessible health care closer to home.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from Michael E. Hershman, Director of the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson, and Zach Burns, Owner of ZRB Development. Each speaker highlighted the importance of the new facility, not only as a health care resource but also as a symbol of collaboration between VA, local government, and the broader community. Following their remarks, guests joined Veterans and staff in officially opening the doors to the state-of-the-art space.

Veterans and community members were invited to tour the clinic, meet staff, and see firsthand the expanded capabilities now available in Bloomington. The opening of this facility ensures that Veterans will no longer need to navigate between separate clinics for essential services, making it easier to receive comprehensive care in one location. With this investment, VA reaffirms its mission to honor and serve Veterans by delivering the timely, compassionate, and coordinated care they have earned.
