NATIONAL VETERANS AWARENESS RIDE TO STOP AT IOWA CITY VA MEDICAL CENTER

Iowa City , IA — May 14, 2024, The National Veterans Awareness Ride will make a stop at the Iowa City VA Medical Center (ICVAMC) on Monday, May 20, 2024, for an annual visit with local Veterans.
Riders are expected to arrive at the hospital around 2 PM to spend quality time with local Veterans. The National Veterans Awareness Ride starts in Sacramento, CA and travels to Washington, DC over the span of 13 days. The National Veterans Awareness Organization (NVAO) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring all Veterans.
“Having events such as this one, helps to lift the spirit of our Veterans,” said Iowa City VA Health Care System Director, Judith Johnson-Mekota. “We are always appreciative when NVAO makes a stop in Iowa City to show our Veterans support. It is a good reminder to those at our hospital that they are not alone, they are still part of this community, and they are comforted by the support of people they have never met.”
