After 30 years of federal service, Sarah Beauchamp of Iron Mountain, MI retired from the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (OGJVAMC) in Iron Mountain on September 30, 2025.

Sarah was born and raised in Alpena, MI and is the daughter of Dennis and Mary Burns. She graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Sarah started her VA career on October 1, 1995, at the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center. During her tenure, she worked in the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, specializing in transfusion medicine and point of care testing. She was a liaison to the facility’s eight community-based outreach clinics supporting their laboratory needs from afar.

“It has been the greatest honor to serve our Veterans for the past 30 years. VA medical facilities are a special place and unless you have served in one you will never know the importance of what they provide beyond medical care. I could not be prouder of my time at the OGJVAMC. I’d like to give special thanks to two incredible friends that helped launch my VA journey and to everyone along the way for all you have taught me over my 30-year career.”
