Veteran town hall tour with Oscar G. Johnson VA starts May 14

Members of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (OGJVAMC) leadership and outreach teams will travel around the central region of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan hosting five separate town hall events from May 14 through 16, 2025.
Town halls are an opportunity for Veterans to engage with OGJVAMC leadership, ask questions, and learn about changes to their benefits and health care.
“Veterans can expect updates on the PACT Act, Beneficiary Travel, Home-base Primary Care, our construction projects we are working on and a lot more,” said Medical Center Director John P. Shealey, “But the most important part of these events happens when we answer Veterans questions and hear their feedback live and in person.”
Veterans, their families, and the public are invited to attend the events:
- May 14 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Hermansville American Legion Post 340, at W5503 River St., Hermansville, MI 49847.
- May 14 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71, at 802 Delta Ave, Gladstone, MI 49837.
- May 15 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Christmas Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 237, at E8025 Jingle Bell Lane, Christmas, MI 49862.
- May 15 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Marquette American Legion Post 44, at 700 W Bluff St, Marquette, MI 49855.
- May 16 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Gwinn Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 5670, at 54 Mitchell St., Gwinn, MI 49841.
