Creative Arts Competition 2023: A Celebration of Talent and Creativity

The curtains have closed, the paintbrushes have been laid to rest, and the inkwells have dried—after months of anticipation, the results for the 2023 Local Creative Arts Competition have been unveiled.

This year's event showcased an impressive array of artistic talent, with a diverse range of entries spanning various creative divisions. 

With a total of 35 entries, the competition brought together artists from different corners of the community, all eager to share their unique visions and creative voices. The breakdown of entries revealed a mix of artistic disciplines, with 24 submissions in the Art Division, 10 in the Creative Writing Division, and 1 in the Music Division. While the Dance and Drama Divisions remained unrepresented this year, the enthusiasm in the other divisions more than made up for it.

The success of the 2023 Local Creative Arts Competition would not have been possible without the keen eyes and discerning tastes of the esteemed panel of judges–Sabrina Williams, Brenda Williams, Larry Singleton, Theresa Blackmon, and Dolores Hughes.

The 2023 Local Creative Arts Competition was a testament to the talent and creativity thriving within the community. The artists and writers who participated, along with the dedicated judges, created an atmosphere where art could flourish, captivating the imagination and stirring emotions. As we eagerly anticipate next year's competition, we celebrate the power of artistic expression and the enriching effect it has on our lives.
