On July 23, 2025, Azanda Noye-Gray of the GV (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center showed extraordinary poise and professionalism when faced with an unexpected situation.
While working in the Microbiology Laboratory, she received a call from the Veteran Crisis Hotline that had been inadvertently transferred.
Instead of becoming overwhelmed, Azanda remained calm, kept the Veteran engaged, and immediately contacted the appropriate response team. Thanks to her composure and quick thinking, the Veteran received the timely support and care they needed.
By demonstrating Commitment, Respect, and Excellence, Azanda went beyond her usual duties, ensuring that a Veteran in crisis was met with compassion and care. Her actions reflect the very best of the VA mission.
