On August 5, 2025, Robert Payne of the Jackson VA Medical Center went above and beyond to ensure a Veteran’s safety and well-being.
When a Veteran experienced sudden nausea in the parking lot and could not leave their car, Robert immediately took action. He contacted the Emergency Department, stayed on the phone until help arrived, and remained with the Veteran until he was sure they were in good hands.
His compassion didn’t stop there. Robert returned later that day to check in and followed up with a call the next day to ensure the Veteran was recovering. By demonstrating Integrity, Commitment, Respect, and Excellence, he showed the true spirit of VA Core Values.
