Kathleen Horne

Ms. Kathleen Horne has served as the Chief Nurse of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) at Tampa VA Medical Center, the Chief of Quality, Safety, & Value at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System, and Patient Safety Manager at Bay Pines VA Health Care System. Ms. Horne has almost 25 years of nursing and healthcare experience. 

Before joining the VA in 2016, Ms. Horne held several leadership positions in the private sector, including Chief Clinical Officer, Director of Quality & Risk Management, Director of Acute Care Services, and Director of Clinical Education. While working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia as an ICU nurse, Ms. Horne joined the United States Air Force Reserves, Nurse Corps (USAFR, NC) after the 9/11 attacks and became a flight nurse. Ms. Horne served for almost eight years and concluded her military service as a Mission Commander/Medical Crew Director and combat Veteran at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida.
