VA Loma Linda’s Murrieta and Sy Kaplan (Palm Desert) Clinics Transition to VA-Staffed Facilities

PRESS RELEASE

March 29, 2024

Loma Linda , CA — VA Loma Linda Healthcare System leadership is proud to announce that the Murrieta and Sy Kaplan (Palm Desert) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) will be fully transitioned from contract facilities to VA-staffed facilities on April 1, 2024.

This represents a significant shift in VA Loma Linda’s approach to healthcare delivery for Veterans in the Inland Empire.

“Our Veterans have voiced the importance of VA-provided care, and we’ve listened,” said Karandeep Sraon, VA Loma Linda Medical Center Director. “As we embrace the future of Veteran care at our community-based outpatient clinics, we do so with respect for the past contributions of our contracting partners.  The transition of the Murrieta and Sy Kaplan clinics to VA-staffed facilities is the culmination of effort and collaboration of several years. VA Loma Linda’s response to the needs and desires of our Veteran community reflects our commitment to accessible, exceptional, and personalized care.”

Veterans will continue to receive primary care services at their assigned CBOC in Murrieta or Palm Desert (Sy Kaplan). This operational change from contracted staff to VA staff has been carefully planned to ensure that no action is required from enrolled Veterans. Some current contracted staff have joined VA and will remain at the Murrieta and Sy Kaplan CBOCs, so the patients’ provider may or may not change. If a change is required, the continuity and quality of Veteran care will remain our top priority.

The Murrieta CBOC is still located at 25125 Madison Ave., Suite 105, Murrieta, California 92562, and the following services remain available: Primary Care, Social Work, Laboratory, Mental Health, Audiology, Nutrition, Immunizations, and Tele-Retinal Screening.

The Sy Kaplan CBOC is still located at 72700 Dinah Shore Dr., Suite 200, Palm Desert, California 92211, and the following services remain available: Primary Care, Social Work, Laboratory, Mental Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Immunizations, Infectious Disease, Neurology and Tele-Retinal Screening.

If Veterans have any questions or concerns about this transition, they can call (909) 825-7084 and press 2 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to speak with their healthcare team.

VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is honored to provide healthcare and support services for Veterans across the Inland Empire. To learn more, visit https://www.va.gov/loma-linda-health-care/.
