Deesha K. Brown was appointed Associate Director for Operations at VA Loma Linda Healthcare System on October 13, 2019.
Ms. Brown began her VA career as an Administrative Resident at Birmingham VA Medical Center, followed by an assignment in the Veterans Health Administration, Chief Business Office. Ms. Brown also served as Executive Officer and Principal Advisor to the Deputy Under Secretary for Health, Operations and Management with oversight for VHA’s 21 Veterans Integrated Service Networks, 152 medical facilities, and more than 800 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
As co-lead of the national MyVA, Security and Preparedness initiative, Brown focused on standardizing personal and physical security and emergency preparedness programs across three Veterans Administration Agencies - Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, and the National Cemetery Administration.
Ms. Brown is a member of the Texas State Bar and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Prior to joining the Veterans Health Administration, Ms. Brown served as in-house counsel for Barrett, Burke, Wilson, Castle, Daffin & Frappier; followed by a term as Assistant City Attorney, City of Dallas. She is a graduate of the VHA Network Executive Healthcare Leadership Institute, VHA Executive Care Field Program, Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives; 2015 Leadership VA alumni and 2016 Federal Executive Institute alumni.
