Charmaine Mainor began her career with VA in 2003 as a Student Nurse Technician at the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Acute Care.

She previously served in a variety of nursing management positions, including Staffing Coordination, Emergency Department Manager, and Chief Nurse for Acute Care where she was instrumental in achieving the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses PRISM Award ®.

With over 19 years of health care experience, Ms. Mainor brings a wealth of clinical and leadership experience. Ms. Mainor’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a Master of Science degree in Management and Leadership from the University of Phoenix.  She is currently enrolled at Baylor University, pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Nurse Leadership.

As a member of the executive leadership team, Ms. Mainor provides leadership, planning and administration of patient-care operations, including employing evidenced based-practices, applying quality improvement projects, and focusing on patient-centered care to enhance the Veteran’s experience.
