Join us in celebrating National Dentists Day, March 6th and Dental Assistants Week, March 5th through March 11th.
“If you’ve put a smile on someone’s face today, you’ve done more good than you know.”- Richelle E. Goodrich.
We not only strive to give a Veteran’s a better “smile” clinically, but as the quote says, The Marion VA Dental Service also strives to put a smile on their face every time they have a dental appointment.
The Significance of Dentists Day & How it Honors Dental Professionals
Dentists Day is an annual celebration that honors the hard work and dedication of all dental care professionals. It is a day to recognize the invaluable contributions dentists, dental assistants and other dentistry professionals make to our society. This day acknowledges the importance of their work in maintaining good oral health, promoting healthy habits and providing quality care to people of all ages. By celebrating Dentists Day, we show our appreciation for those who dedicate their lives to helping our Veterans maintain healthy smiles.
The Marion VA Dental Service honors our American Veterans by providing quality dental care to improve our Veterans overall well- being and general health. We provide General Dentistry and Oral Surgery Dental Services that are patient centered and evidence based.
Dental Service Chief, Dr. Amy Carrico shares that “The Dental Service is a family and treats our Veteran’s like family. Every single one of the dental staff are dedicated, skilled, and extremely hard working.”
Last year, the Marion VA Dental Service performed over 14,000 dental procedures, servicing approximately 2,228 unique Veterans.
We have Dental Clinics in Marion and in Evansville. We have a total of 12 dental operatories and an in-house Dental Laboratory. They emphasize prevention of oral disease and population health and provide state of the art treatment to eligible Veterans.
The Role that Dental Assistants Play in Delivering Quality Care
Dental assistants are an important part of any dental practice. They are responsible for providing quality care to patients, and they play a vital role in helping dentists provide the best possible service. Dental assistants perform a wide range of tasks, from taking x-rays and preparing patients for procedures to sterilizing instruments and making sure the office is clean and organized.
Dental assistants should be recognized for their hard work and dedication to delivering quality care. It is important to recognize their importance in the dental profession, as well as the duties that they perform daily.
