Marion VA Health Care System awarded Accreditation from The Joint Commission
The Marion VA Health Care System has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital, Behavioral Health, and Home Care programs. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
The Marion VA Health Care System underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review December 6th – 9th 2022. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Hospital, Behavioral Health, and Home Care program standards.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess, and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

Marion VA staff routinely participated in frequent quality and regulatory readiness activities, including proactively assessing our processes, maintaining safe environmental standards, and validating continued vigilance of high-quality care standards. Re-accreditation is a validation of their hard work.
