Care in the Community Veteran Self-Scheduling Option

Approved for Care in the Community? You may be able to self-schedule your appointment for specific services with an in-network provider.

To get started:

  1. Once you receive an active referral from your provider, elect to self-schedule Community Care
  2. Read the authorization notification letter sent by email, My HealtheVet, or mail
  3. Use the Find VA Locations site to find an in-network provide and schedules
  4. Call Care in the Community to complete the process within 7 days of receiving authorization notification.

The following are not eligible for Veteran Self-Scheduling:

  • Oncology/Hematology
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Dialysis/Nephrology oversite for Dialysis
  • Dental
