VA Memphis Cinematographer Honored with Multiple Emmy Nominations

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center received an Emmy Award Nomination from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Nashville/Mid-South Division!
VA Memphis Cinematographer Romeo Lucchesi earned two Emmy Nominations on November 21, 2024, at the NATAS Nashville/Mid-South Emmy Award Nomination Ceremony. One of his nominations was in the Video Essayist category for the compelling story titled Veteran of Two Wars, which pays tribute to Mr. Elmore Nickleberry, a U.S. Army veteran and Civil Rights icon.
Mr. Nickleberry was one of the last surviving participants of the 1968 Memphis sanitation workers' strike, which aimed to fight for equal rights and dignity for African American workers. This historic movement drew the support of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to their cause.
