Sarah Garven BSN, MSN, DNP

As ADPCS, Dr. Garven is responsible for nursing practice throughout the medical center and community clinics.  In addition, she has programmatic oversight for Social Work, Nursing Education, Research, and Simulation, Geriatrics and Extended Care, Rehabilitation Division, Nutrition and Food Services, and the Sterile Processing Division.

In 2015, Dr. Garven began her career at the VA as the Acute Mental Health Inpatient, Assistant Nurse Manager.  In 2018, she transitioned to the Mental Health Nurse Coordinator role.  In 2022, she was appointed as the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services, and since October 2024, she has served as the Acting Associate Director for Patient Care Services.

Dr. Garven earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in 2009, a Master of Science in Nursing from Alverno College in 2018, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Concordia University in 2023.
