Mrs. Kimberly Adkins was appointed on June 29, 2026, as the Executive Director of the Montana VA Health Care System (MTVAHCS).

She had previously served as the healthcare system’s Associate Director from March 2024-June 2026. As the Executive Director, Mrs. Adkins has oversight of MTVAHCS, which is a Joint Commission accredited, level two complexity facility, with a $612M ($300M in Community Care) annual budget. MTVAHCS serves over 48,000 Veterans across Montana operating the largest catchment area in the lower 48 states (about 147,000 square miles) with over 21 sites of care statewide. 

Mrs. Adkins has more than 29 years of federal service and experience in overseeing emergency management, fiscal, facilities management, safety, strategic planning, supply chain management, police, privacy, human resources, community care and contracting. The granddaughter of a World War II U.S. Air Force Veteran, the wife of a U.S. Navy Veteran, and the mother of two sons serving in the U.S. Navy, she feels her mission is to serve our nation's heroes and fully pledges to VA's ICARE Values.
