MOUNTAIN HOME, TN — Voluntary Services at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center (JHQVAMC) and Quilts of Valor Foundation partnered Dec. 8, 2022, providing hand-made quilts to in-patient residents at the medical center during the holiday season.

The foundation working with Voluntary Services to distrivute quilts to residents has become an annual event at the medical center and is aimed to give some comfort to recipients.

Mike Kromoff, the chief of Voluntary Service at JHQVAMC, said the annual presentation of quilts to residents is one of the many great services offered during the holidays.

“It makes my day to put a smile on the faces of our heroes when we hand them these quilts,” said Kromoff. “Some of the Veterans tear up when they look at the gift. All of the Veterans simply say, ‘Thank you very much for this wonderful gift’.”

Quilts of Valor Foundation aims to provide service members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor, a quality hand-made quilt with the phrase, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
