The diagnosis of MS is often difficult and may take time. It can only be made after an extensive evaluation and is not based on one specific physical finding, laboratory test, or symptom.
Our fellowship develops physician leaders with the vision, knowledge, and commitment to health care, research, and education related to MS.
Treatments for MS focus on controlling the immune system and managing symptoms. The current goals for MS care are to reduce the frequency of relapses and to slow the progression of the disease by using a drug therapy approach called disease modifying treatments.
MSCoE conducts, disseminates and applies research findings to improve the health needs of Veterans with MS.
