ORLANDO, Fla. — The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SGVHS) is participating in this year’s Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 8 Improvement Forum, hosted at the Orlando VA Medical Center.

The forum brings together VA medical centers from across the region to share proven practices that improve care and services for Veterans.

NF/SGVHS is presenting eight best practices developed across its facilities, each focused on improving efficiency, quality, collaboration and patient safety. Together, these efforts support better, faster and safer care for the Veterans who depend on VA services.

“Participating in the VISN 8 Improvement Forum allows us to collaborate and learn from other VA facilities across the network,” said Wende Dottor, Executive Health System Director for NF/SGVHS. “Together, we’re building more consistent, high-quality care for Veterans, no matter where they receive services.”

The Improvement Forum fosters collaboration, innovation and continuous learning among VA health care teams. By sharing successful strategies and lessons learned, facilities across VISN 8 can adopt approaches that strengthen operations and improve outcomes for Veterans.

“When teams share best practices, it directly improves how we work together and how care is delivered,” said Matt Kanouse, System Redesign Coordinator for NF/SGVHS. “It helps reduce inefficiencies and supports safe, consistent care.”

NF/SGVHS’s best practices focus on areas that directly impact the Veteran experience, including reducing wait times, using evidence-based care to improve outcomes and strengthening collaboration across teams. Additional efforts emphasize patient safety, consistent treatment standards and responsible use of resources, reinforcing leadership accountability and reliability in care delivery.

“Every best practice we share represents a commitment to Veterans,” said Dottor. “By learning from one another, we move closer to our mission of providing the best possible care to every Veteran, every time.”
