New and Improved Lake City Operating Room Open for Patients

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System is proud to announce the opening of a new and improved Operating Room (OR) at the Lake City VA Medical Center (Lake City VAMC) located at 619 S. Marion Ave Lake City, FL 32025.

In August 2024, the Lake City VAMC OR was forced to close its doors due to the extensive damage inflicted by Hurricane Debby. The impact of the storm was significant, requiring a thorough assessment and month-long repairs. Alongside the restoration efforts, we have also implemented significant updates aimed at enhancing the quality of care we provide to Veterans.

The reopening of the (OR) will significantly enhance access to exceptional surgical care, restoring the convenience that Veterans had prior to the storm. The Lake City OR specializes in outpatient surgical care for the Veteran population across North Florida and South Georgia, offering a wide range of surgical services, including Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Podiatry, Plastics, Urology, Orthopedics, and Anesthesia Pain management. 

The compliments received from Veterans about these services and the dedication of our staff to provide exemplary care served as a powerful motivation for the entire team involved in the reopening of our Operating Room.
