Feel Good Friday- The Piano Man

Paul Holbert being interviewed.
By Thomas Neeson, Public Affairs Specialist

You may not have heard of Paul Holbert by name, but if you've walked the halls of the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center you've definitely heard him. Or at least, his music.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, Paul served four years as a helicopter pilot at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia. After being honorably discharged he, like many Veterans, experienced some ups and downs while transitioning to civilian life. Well on the road to success, Paul thanks VA for getting him the help he needed.

In addition to receiving care at VA, Paul is also a VANEOHS Transportation staff member and enjoys giving back to our community by helping his fellow Veterans. Which is why he tells us he started playing the piano again after a 25 year absence. "I saw this piano down here and I thought it would be nice to get back into playing and help out some of the Veterans, to cheer them up".

Paul can be found most days, tickling the ivories on the lower level near the Canteen. So if you're in the area you can catch a free concert and also connect with a Veteran who is doing his best to make us all feel a just little bit better.

Thank you, Paul!
