  • Cleveland, OH – Today VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System announced that Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This is the first time CMS has included VA facilities in their annual Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings.

  • Disaster Simulation Brings Together Multiple Local, Federal Organizations

    VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, in partnership with VA Office of Emergency Management recently led a National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) Exercise with multiple partners in the community, June 28.
  • WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it has relaxed the masking requirement at VA medical facilities. VA facilities will no longer universally require masks in most clinical areas.

  • Cleveland VA Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University Researchers Get Closer to Restoring Feeling and Functionality

    CBS News recently highlighted important prosthetic limb research being conducted at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University.
  • In 1982, nearly 40 years after the first group of Inhalation Therapists (now known as Respiratory Therapists) started working, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation dedicating National Respiratory Care Week. Today Respiratory Care Week is held the last full week in October.

  • In 2017 medical professionals from the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center developed a Structural Heart program. By 2019 construction on two state-of-the art hybrid operating rooms was completed.
