VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System Targets Veteran Outreach Opportunities in 2025

VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is committed to educating Veterans living within its 21-county catchment area about the importance of VA enrollment and health care options available to them, particularly under the PACT Act, which has expanded eligibility to thousands of Veterans since Aug 2022.
“VANEOHS prides itself on providing high-quality and easily accessible care to Veterans at levels which meet or exceed that of our community partners,” said Dave Chmielewski, chief of Community Outpatient Services. “Each of our 18 locations offer an expansive list of services under the primary care, specialty care and behavioral health umbrellas.”
With the support of public affairs specialists, who specialize in Veteran outreach, VANEOHS continues to promote and encourage enrollment within its 21-county coverage area.
On an ongoing basis, public affairs specialists remain committed to establishing community partnerships and collaboration by participating in area events where Veterans can enroll to ensure high-quality accessible healthcare care is available to them.
Several VANOEHS departments, including VA outpatient clinics, Suicide Prevention, Home Based Primary Care, National Cemetery Administration, Veteran Benefits Administration, Eligibility, Social Work, Post 9/11 Military to VA, regularly participate in outreach events to reach enrolled and unenrolled Veterans and their families. Together, the healthcare system’s staff attended hundreds of events during 2024 and expect to increase their involvement in 2025. VA staff work as a team providing a variety of concurrent and pertinent services (both medical and administrative) for a whole health approach for the care and healing of Veterans.
“We have a personal interest in our Veterans’ health and their transition process,” said Robert Rood, VANEOHS M2VA’s transition and case care manager. “I encourage Veterans to discover the benefits of the VA and what it has to offer “We work closely with Veterans and their families to identify and meet their individual healthcare needs by coordinating care and benefits within VA and with community resources as needed.”
