Dr. Jay Routson was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff at Northern Arizona VA Health Care System in June 2026.
He spent time in training at the Lincoln, Omaha and San Antonio VA hospitals and clinics.
Since residency, he has worked in traditional internal medicine private practice, as a residency teaching attending, emergency physician, hospitalist, intensivist, medical director, and department chair.
Dr. Routson first joined Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) in 2011 and cumulatively has over 13 years’ experience at NAVAHCS.
