Dr. Savitri Aguiar was appointed the Geriatrics & Extended Care Chief at the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System effective November 2, 2025.
Dr. Savitri is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He has been with the VA since 2015, having worked in multiple geriatric models of care: HBPC, CLC, Geri-PACT and home-based transitions of care, this last one being an innovative program in Northern California VA, where Veterans with recurrent hospitalizations or ER visits were closed followed up at home by an interdisciplinary team for 6-8 weeks.
Dr. Aguiar has worked at VA facilities in Albuquerque (NM), Amarillo (TX) and Martinez (CA), besides being a geriatric fellow at the Honolulu (HI) VA. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and backpacking. He is delighted and honored to serve Veterans in his new role at NAVAHCS.
