Become a Master Gardener
Spring 2026 Basic Training: Ready to Grow Your Green Thumb?
MARION, Ind. (Dec. 16, 2025) – VA Northern Indiana is excited to announce our upcoming Master Gardener class, offered in partnership with Purdue University, and hosted by Nutrition and Food Service at the Marion campus greenhouse. Classes will take place every Tuesday from Feb. 3 to Apr. 28, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to enhance their gardening knowledge and skills.
Designed for both beginners and experienced gardeners, the Master Gardener program covers a wide range of topics, including horticultural plants and pest management. By joining this class, you will not only improve your personal gardening skills but also gain the knowledge to teach others, volunteer in your community, and have fun while doing so. Veterans are given first priority for enrollment until Jan. 9, and both Veterans and VA employees will have their class fees sponsored. Interested employees will need to use annual leave if the class overlaps their tour. However, the registration deadline for all participants is Jan. 27, so be sure to secure your spot soon.
Becoming a Master Gardener offers numerous benefits, such as the joy of learning about and working with plants, the satisfaction of volunteering, and the camaraderie of being part of a community group. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to grow your skills and give back to your community.
