American Academy of Nursing – New VA Fellows Announced
The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) recently announced the selection of 225 distinguished nurse leaders to be inducted into the 2021 AAN Class of Fellows. The inductees will be recognized for their significant contributions to health and health care at the AAN annual Health Policy Conference to be held October 7-9, 2021. American Association of Nurse Practitioners Names Fellows to New Leadership Positions
Congratulations to both Penny Kayne Jensen, DNP, FNP-C, FAAN, FAANP and Kahlil A. Demonbreun, DNP, RNC-OB, WHNP-BC, ANP-BC, FAANP, FAAN. Dr. Jensen, chief consultant for advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) practice for the VA Office of Nursing Services (ONS), has been named as “Chair-elect” where she will build positive synergy to leverage the accomplishments of the Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioner (FAANP) program. Dr. Demonbreun, the Women’s Health Medical Director at the Columbia (South Carolina) VA Health Care System, currently serving in his third year as Fellows Section Committee members was re-elected and will now serve as Chair of the Committee where he will lead the identification and nomination of the best FAANP candidates. VA Nurse Recognized as Distinguished Scholar in Holistic Nursing
Congratulations to Keri Darby, MSN, RN, AHN-BC, SGAHN on her induction as a distinguished scholar into the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing! The Academy, in support of the mission of The American Holistic Nurses Association and in concert with the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation, will focus on advancing the specialty of Holistic Nursing around the world. The unique purpose of the Academy is to cultivate a network of Holistic Nursing Scholars, like Ms. Darby, who have shown leadership and commitment to expanding sustainable transcultural and integrative caring-healing processes that effect global health care transformation. Ms. Darby is an RN Whole Health Consultant with the Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation.
