What's Changed?

Rescinded/Inactive Acquisition/Procurement Related Information Letters

Purpose:  This Acquisition Policy Flash announces the completion of an effort by the Office of Acquisition and Logistics (OAL), Procurement Policy and Warrant Management Service (PPS), to review all active acquisition/procurement-related Information Letters (ILs) and to determine if the IL should be rescinded or rescinded and replaced with a Procurement Policy Memorandum (PPM). It also updates the organizational points of contact for accessing rescinded/obsolete ILs to meet the business needs of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Effective Date:  Immediately

Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Impacted:  N/A

Background:  On January 18, 2019, PPS concluded a project to review all 170 active VA acquisition/procurement related ILs. The purpose of this comprehensive review was to determine if the IL had expired, was obsolete, or should otherwise be rescinded or rescinded and replaced with a PPM. For archival purposes, PPS established a repository for these ILs, which have been removed from the OAL/PPS website.

Applicability:  This notification is directed to the VA acquisition workforce.
