Dr. Melissa Glynn
Assistant Secretary for Enterprise Integration
Dr. Melissa Glynn serves as the Assistant Secretary for Enterprise Integration (OEI) and is responsible for leading efforts to continuously improve operations of the Department. OEI focuses on enhancing Veterans and employee experiences through effective enterprise integration and execution support of people, processes, technology; innovations; and maturing management capabilities. OEI leads Departmental efforts in: strategic and future foresights, enterprise risk management, performance management, policy management and analysis, transformation and innovations, data analytics and statistics, data governance, and interagency coordination and collaboration.
Prior to entering public service, Dr. Glynn led a consulting practice for an internationally renowned turnaround and restructuring firm. Her work with Alvarez & Marsal’s Public Sector practice focused on improving the delivery of government programs, K-12, and higher education through public private partnerships and restructuring sourcing and acquisitions, asset management, technology, and organizational design. The practice transformed organizations and programs and leveraged her specific expertise in Medicaid, social services, and grants management. Previously, she was a Principal with PricewaterhouseCoopers responsible for the firm’s work with the Department. Initially, Dr. Glynn’s career focused on the development and deployment of cutting edge technologies associated with collaborative decision making. She served as Co-Director of the Center for the Management of Information at the University of Arizona concurrent with her doctoral studies and was a principal investigator on an Industry / University Cooperative grant from the National Science Foundation and several programs funded by defense research laboratories.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Glynn holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and a M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.
