WASHINGTON — More than 30 leaders from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) were recently acknowledged at the 7th Annual 2021 FedHealthIT 100 Awards  for their contributions to federal health information technology.

Their efforts were recognized for delivering technological innovations to help the nation fight the COVID-19 pandemic, developing digital and cloud-based solutions, driving health-IT modernization initiatives and providing quality customer service that empower Veterans.

VA leaders were honored in the following FedHealthIT awards categories:

  • 100 AwardsDriving innovation, challenging conventional wisdom and contributing to the larger federal health IT and consulting community.
  • First Vision Award – Delivering technology to keep Veterans safe while adjudicating benefits during the pandemic by the VA Virtual Hearing Project Team.
  • 100 Communicators of the Year – Demonstrating a commitment to the enhancement of communication and relations between government, industry and the roader federal health community.
  • Hall of Fame – Making a considerable impact within the federal health community and in support of federal health missions.

“The subject matter expertise of VA leaders is a driving force in health care technological advances,” said VA Secretary Robert Wilkie. “The importance of our mission challenges us to develop innovative, forward-leaning solutions that drive exceptional customer service and usher VA — and our customers — into the digital future.
