VA Logistics Support Services (LSS)

LSS enables clients to provide best value solutions to Veterans and their families.  Provides specified logistics support services, including publication, transportation of freight and household goods, drayage, and management of the small package delivery service contract.  Develops printing and publication policy and guidance in accordance with Title 44 U.S.C.  Receives and processes customer requests for design, print, and 508 conversion.  Manages and develops procedures for VA-wide general freight program in accordance with 41 CFR 102-118.40.  Freight services are procured using pre-negotiated tenders enabling quick and easy procurement.  Manages the VA’s Household Goods and Employee Relocation Services program.  Develops transportation policies and guidance.  Also, manages the Next Generation Delivery Service (NGDS), a Category Management program (CM) under OMB Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI), for domestic and international small package express and ground delivery services.

Transportation and Relocation Services

Responsible for the planning, sourcing, procurement, and management of the Next Generation Delivery Service (NGDS), Employee Household Goods Relocations, General Freight Shipping, and Publications.  VA TRS provides:

Small Package Delivery Services
Oversight and management of VA’s participation in the Next Generation Delivery Service (NGDS) contract, a Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative (FSSI), Category Management (CM) initiative which consolidates domestic and international small package express and ground delivery services for all Federal Government agencies.

Households Goods Program
Oversight and management of VA Centralized Household Goods Program for employees transferring through a Move Manager.  We develop, interpret and promulgate Federal statutory laws and policies, and procedures regarding the movement of personal property and POV’s belonging to VA employees and their dependents.

General Freight Shipping Program
Oversight and management in support of VHA, VBA, NCA, and applies a full range of knowledge of Logistic, Supply, and Traffic Management skills to manage, plan, and direct the VA Transportation and Logistics Center.  Typical shipments are for transporting new or used vehicles, construction equipment, furniture, station property, VA-owned trailers/containers, laboratory moves, office moves, personnel records, medical records, and medical supplies and equipment used in direct and indirect patient care to sites inside the Continental United States, and between CONUS and Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and internationally to and from Guam, Manila, South Korea, Germany and many other international origins or destinations.  Learn more »

Publications and Printing Services

LSS is the official source within Veteran Affairs (VA) for graphic design, 508 conversion, printing, publishing, records digitization, and distribution.  Publications and Printing Services (PPS) supports the VA mission by consistently providing technically correct, high-quality, and timely customer service that meets customer expectations and needs.  PPS maintains the highest graphic, printing, and customer service standards while keeping pace with ongoing changes within VA.  PPS provides:

Graphics:  Visual Information Specialists aid in bringing your message to life.  Documents can remain digital or be created for output to print.

Copy Center:  Provides high speed black or digital color printing.  Additional capabilities include tabs and binders, folding, tape, or saddle stitch binding.  You will find a full-service copy center located in VACO Room 850.

Printing Procurement:  Printing Procurement can procure anything that is imaged on a substrate, not just paper.  From forms to books to posters, printing procurement ensures you receive the highest quality printed product at the best possible price.

Digital Services:  PPS turns existing documents, legacy or digital, into 508 compliant PDFs suitable for posting to the VA website.  PPS also takes legacy documents/records and digitizes them into secure PDFs.  These PDFs can be created and password protected to allow for quick, easy searches in the future.
