Tracy Skala, M.S. EdL, VHA-CM, serves as the Deputy Director for the Orlando VA Health Care System (OVAHCS).
Prior to her selection as Deputy Director, Ms. Skala was the Associate Director for Operations for the OVAHCS from June 2021 – October 2022. Ms. Tracy Skala joined the OVAHCS from previously serving as the Acting Deputy Network Director for VISN 6 Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network Office since June 2019. In this role she had oversight of a 7 Hospital Healthcare System providing both inpatient and outpatient services for a population of 400K + Veterans in the States of North Carolina and Virginia.
Since February 2018, Ms. Skala also was the Associate Director of VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS). Before her selection at VASNHS, she has served in the roles of Associate Director for the G.V. ‘Sonny’ Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS, and the Chief of Human Resources Officer for both the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System and the Orlando VA Healthcare System.
Aside from her VA service, Ms. Skala also served in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. She retired after 20 years of active-duty service as a Medical Service Corp Officer. During her time in the military, she worked in various areas of health care administration.
Ms. Skala has a Bachelor of Science in Business – Healthcare Management from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Science in Leadership from Troy University. She is a graduate of the 2010 Leadership VA program and the 2016 Health Care Leadership Development Program. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a VHA Certified Mentor at the Fellow Level.
