Volunteer or donate

VA Orlando Healthcare System depends on the goodwill of our supporters. You can make a difference when you help us serve our Veterans.

What is CDCE?

The Orlando VA Healthcare System is grateful for the continued support of volunteers, donors, Veteran Service Organizations, and community partners. Through this generosity we can supplement services and increase the quality of the care to America’s heroes.

The Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE) manages all volunteers, oversees donations, and facilitates community partnerships and related philanthropic engagement. We are proud to be able to advocate for our Veterans’ needs and create meaningful partnerships with our community to better support our Veterans.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the health care system and make our patients’ experiences more enjoyable. Our goal in the CDCE office is to ensure that our volunteer experience at any of our facilities is as rewarding to the volunteer as it is beneficial to the patients, families, visitors, and caregivers.

Volunteers can perform a number of services in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Volunteer’s talents and interests are used to match them to one or more of our available assignments where they would be able to provide the most impact.

The Volunteer Onboarding process includes:

  • Being 14 years or older (minors can contact the CDCE office to discuss Virtual opportunities)
  • Submitting a request to volunteer https://www.cdceportal.va.gov
  • Completing an application and all necessary screenings (health and background)
  • Completing orientation

The full onboarding process may take 2-3 weeks to complete.
