The National Center for Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) is the first program in the nation to train Veteran-Owned Small Businesses to accelerate their success and growth in the federal contracting market. With funding from state and federal agencies and the support of corporate sponsors, the VIP program is offered at no cost to Veteran business owners from all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Currently, the VIP program provides five (5) market-based in-person training sessions over a 3-day-27-hour. Learn how the VIP program helps Veteran entrepreneurs create jobs and contribute to economic development across the country and internationally. Since the program's inception, 2,232 Veteran-owned businesses have graduated and, through leveraging the tools, resources, and connections from VIP, secured over $17 Billion in federal prime contract awards.

 

 

This small business development training will educate the businesses within the community unfamiliar with risk and identify ways to mitigate risk from the perspective of the procurement decision maker (PDM), also known as the buyer. You will learn about what risk means for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the ways the VA manages risk, how a business can mitigate risk to the buyer, and resources to use to help identify internal and external risks for the business.
