Session 2: Navigating Your New Role in the World
Now that we’ve explored the core of caregiving in Session 1, we’ll move into how caregiving impacts your relationships, work, and personal life—and how to balance the demands of caregiving with the rest of your life.
In this session, Dr. Maytal and Natalie dive into the impact of caregiving on relationships, work, and personal identity. As a caregiver, balancing the demands of your role with other aspects of your life can be difficult. We’ll discuss the transition from being a supportive family member to becoming a primary caregiver, and how caregiving reshapes family dynamics. We’ll also cover the challenges of balancing caregiving responsibilities with professional life, self-care, and your own personal needs, offering strategies to help you navigate these shifts.
The Caregiver’s Playbook is a comprehensive, four-part training series hosted by Guy Maytal, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Forge Health, and Natalie Elliott Handy, MSW, Co-Host of Confessions of a Reluctant Caregiver Podcast.
