The goal of this session is to bring awareness among the public about key risk factors for diagnosis of prostate cancer - including age, Black race, and family cancer history – and how men can advocate for themselves around prostate cancer screening. For people living with prostate cancer, our panelist will also talk about prostate cancer recurrence, and what patients can do to lower their risk. Panelist Dr. Alexandra Sokolova will discuss her research in the VA, which aims to improve outreach to family members of prostate cancer patients in the VA who may benefit from cancer genetic testing.
