Announcing the new Kona Clinic Open House

PRESS RELEASE

August 7, 2024

Honolulu , HI — VA Pacific Islands Health Care System (VAPIHCS) is excited to announce the opening of our new Kona Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), which saw its first patient on August 5, 2024.

We are also excited to hold our open house event on August 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a PACT Act Registration and Enrollment Event. VAPIHCS would like to invite Veterans to come see the new clinic at this event, and to find out more about the PACT Act, VA care, and our new facility.

“We are very proud of this new facility which will take over service to our Veterans in the Kailua-Kona region,” said Dr. Adam Robinson, director VAPIHCS. “This new clinic will allow us to move into the future providing the same safe, compassionate, quality care that we have in the past. With increased parking and updated facilities, we think Veterans will be very happy with our new clinic.”

This clinic at 73-5618 Maiau Street Suite 200, Kailua Kona, HI 96740 is replacing our previous Kona CBOC at 35-377 Hualalai Road, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. All patients from that clinic will move to this newer, larger, and more modern facility. The Kailua-Kona CBOC will provide primary care, mental health, specialty care referrals, help with prescriptions -to be processed through the mail of MyHealtheVet- and more. Like all CBOCs, the facility is not intended for emergent medical care. Veterans will continue to visit the Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua or North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea for emergency care.

Existing patients will be automatically transferred to the new location. However, Veterans who have not yet enrolled in VA care and who would like to take advantage of this new CBOC may call 1-800-214-1306 and speak with our enrollment and eligibility department.
