Try our new appointment scheduling preferences feature
We’re always working to make your VA care experience better. As part of our efforts, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to schedule your appointments. That’s why we’ve added a new way for you to tell us your scheduling preference, like the best dates and times for you.
We’re asking Veterans at the VA Pacific Islands Health Care System to try this new feature and tell us what you think. Your feedback will help us make sure the feature meets Veterans’ needs before we share it with more Veterans.
How this new feature helps you
In a new section in your VA.gov profile, you can share general preferences like these:
- How you want us to contact you about appointments
- The best dates and times for your appointments
- How you’d like to select providers for your appointments
Our staff will try to consider these preferences when they schedule your appointment. We’ll still follow any clinical requirements and any preferences you’ve already shared in other ways.
How to try this new feature
Sign in to your VA.gov profile to edit your scheduling preferences:
- Sign in to your VA.gov profile.
- Select Health care settings from your main profile page.
- Select Scheduling preferences.
- Within the preferences page, you’ll find sections for contact, appointment, and provider preferences. Select Edit to add or update your answers to the questions in each section.
- Select Save to save your answers in your profile.

Note: This feature is only available to Veterans at certain VA health facilities right now. If you don’t get care at 1 of these facilities, you won’t find this feature in your VA.gov profile.
How to share your feedback
After staff schedule your upcoming appointments using these preferences, come back to share your feedback. Select the Feedback button from the preferences page and tell us what you think.
Your feedback will help us make sure the feature meets Veterans’ needs before we share it with more Veterans.
