Creative Arts are one of many forms of rehabilitative treatment offered to help veterans in their recovery and is evidence-based practice for various diagnoses seen within the Phoenix VA. Certified Recreation Therapists (CTRS) and Creative Arts (Music) Therapists (MT) focus on goals of improving veterans lives by building coping skills to address issues related to both physical and emotional distress beyond the hospital setting. The veterans participating in the festival receive recognition for their continued progress in recovery and rehabilitation. This event provides an opportunity to help them measure that progress, foster creative and emotional expression, share their stories, and connect with other veterans through shared artistic experience.
